Relationships: Family / Adults, Couples and Emerging Adults
Beyond just a one-time traumatic experience... Early, prolonged and severe relational experiences can have altering impact.
Healing relational trauma, severe childhood trauma, attachment wounds, eating disorders and traumatic memories... EMDR has results even with individuals who have had years of psychotherapy with little progress.

The Family systems treatment approach can be helpful for such mental health conditions as depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, personality disorders, addiction, and food-related disorders. Family systems therapy has also been shown to help individuals and family members better understand dysfunctional patterns, such as power struggles and communication issues.

It's Time to Discover and Explore
What is your story or (the story you keep telling yourself)...discover a willingness to experience uncomfortable thoughts and feelings in service of getting you to the process that will take you to the places you need to explore –
Explore...
I will hold a space for you using intuition, authenticity, validation and curiosity ...
There can be healing when you are heard and validated.
How much time does this take?
This varies with individuals, circumstances, causes and conditions ... some problems can be resolved in a few sessions, some in months or years. It is often possible for me to give an approximate timeline to resolve a situation after 1 or 2 sessions. In cases where emotional trauma has a significant role, the more trauma there was, the earlier in life it took place and the longer it lasted, the recovery process is understandably more complex. That being said, it all depends on your willingness to discover and experience.

My Practice and EMDR
EMDR can apply to any situation in which the past is continuing to impact functioning or promoting unmanageable feelings and reactive behaviors that are unhelpful or unhealthy; trauma from abuse, neglect, divorce, loss, raised in an unstable family are some. Chronic problems related to trauma such as Addictions, eating disorders, PTSD, anxiety, and social blocks are others.
Emotionally distressing events can sometimes be stored physically in the memory of our nervous system in a dysfunctional way, and they continue to produce disturbing symptoms long after they seem to have been resolved.
These life events are often the cause of our current negative self concepts and stories we tell ourselves. Clients of EMDR have successfully moved on in a radical fashion compared to previous treatment methodologies.
